Children’s Program
Safe Homes offers a number of programs for children.
Shelter:
The Children’s Program is staffed by a specially trained advocate. This
advocate offers a respite for the parent as they meet with advocates or
attend to appointments. Moreover, the advocate works in partnership with Mom
on developing a schedule for the children, enrolling them in school and any
parenting questions that may arise.
Homework assistance is offered for school-aged children.
Special programs are also available such as arts and crafts, horticulture
and field trips.
Family Justice
Center
(FJC):
280 Broadway

The Children’s Drop-In
Center allows victims of
domestic violence to meet with advocates, keep appointments in the
building and complete paperwork and make phone calls while their
children are playing safely in the FJC.
There are age-appropriate games and toys as well as a selection of
videos to watch. The
Drop-In
Center is monitored at all
times with trained advocates and volunteers.
Support Groups:
Childcare is available, as needed, at Safe Homes support groups. Please
