Safe Homes of Orange County
Safe Homes of Orange County is a private, non-profit agency established in 1986, dedicated to providing confidential assistance to victims of domestic violence and their children. Our mission is to work toward the elimination of domestic violence, and to increase public awareness about domestic violence issues. Safe Homes is committed to supporting survivors in seeking safety and self-sufficiency. Our specially trained staff delivers a full range of services including: Advocacy, Shelter, Support Groups, Individual Support, 24-Hour Hotline, Information and Referral, Training & Education, Teen Dating Violence Prevention Workshops, Community Outreach, Accompaniment, Children’s Services, and El Abrazo de mis Hermanas (My sister’s Embrace) a program deigned specifically for Latina victims of domestic violence. As the only agency in Orange County designed exclusively to provide services to individuals whose lives have been affected by intimate partner violence, Safe Homes provides a unique and unduplicated service to the community. In addition, Safe Homes is the leading resource in Orange County for education, training, information, guidance concerning domestic violence. We cultivate close relationships with community agencies and other local groups to increase awareness of domestic violence. We accept a leadership role and along with the ywca of orange county, are co-chairs of The Orange County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, a countywide initiative to create a coordinated community response to domestic violence.
